For me, it's up to you. Do you want to go for NS if you had no college to worry about? As someone who has gone for NS, it was an experience, something new, something I have since learned from. It's not just that it was fun (let's face it, they're PAYING you to spend 3 months playing games), it was also an eye-opener for many matters concerning our country and government, whether good or bad. You have to experience it yourself.

On the other hand, why rush to go off to study for college? What's the hurry? Everybody nowadays is all about fast fast fast. Studying as fast as possible, come out and work as fast as possible, so more time to earn more money. Is that what life is about?
Studying life is the time to enjoy, so take your time. Focus on learning, not on completing it in the fastest time possible. Who are you competing with? An imaginary road runner?
Besides, you're not putting off your studies for YEARS, just a couple of months. In which time, you have gained new experiences, friends and lessons.

So (I can't believe I'm saying this) I say, go for NS !!! :)
