2008 ( i know it's so yesterday....literally)

well, guys, 2008 has been one of those years that i will never forget (that's what they always say, ask me a year from now and i'll tell you that nothing really important happened in that year).

last year (i mean that yesterday's "this year") was really fun. i had tonnes and tonnes of laughther with my friends. seriously, (last year was not serious at all). the things we did. haiz. and i did get in trouble quite a lot, (not for what i did, mostly for what i didn't do........and no, it was not homework). loved today's "last year", because, that was the very first year i was with ALL my friends ( note that form 3 does not count because i was too busy studying my head off).

the achivements that i 'achieved' last year is not important. (yeah....rrrriiiiigggghhhhhtttt). the posts and all are totally boring to be stated here ( and i don't want to sound like a stuck-up-proud-snob). more importantly, in that year i discovered this new hobby, yes, reading. i read about 25 novels last year (yes, some were really really short and there were a lot of novels by Agatha Christie). reading has beeen my ultimate escape and i only noticed it last year,( can you believe it?).

my friends. well, this post would not be complete if it did not have my friends in it. my friends were (and will always be) the best in the world (last year, this year must wait and see). i got to know a lot of knew ones too. anne was one of them but now she is far away in Australia. Thambhi (that's priyadharshan) is also one of them, he was from St Paul (now he is in MY school....naynanaynanaynanay)

to put it in a nutshell (nutshells are very small, you know), my life blossomed last year. loved it. sad to see that that year has come to an end. and the beginning of this (monstrous) 2009. (of course, its SPM). anyways, Happy New Year , y'all.

Malacca trip......(day one)

the trip to the historic city of Malacca (must say that in a bold deep voice and the next line with a sarcastic tone), yes, ancient history (roll your eyes now, yeah, that's the way). hahahaha. OK. the trip was great. we actually went there to check out my sister's National Service site, but since we were going, we just packed a few extra pairs of clothes and we were off for a jolly good holiday (as if, 'jolly good', haiz......that's what i thought). we went there in the afternoon, reached the Zoo at around 4.30pm (not so sure).

yes, the ZOO, out of all places to see, the ZOO, haiz, i don't know what's wrong with this people, (hahahahahaha). alright, the zoo was quite fun. i met a lot of your friends there, you know. the chimpanzee were the friendly ones while the monkeys were just sneaky, (that was just a joke....do not sue me for calling my readers and friends 'friends' of animals.). there were a lot species of animals there, since it is quite boring to talk about 'your friends' (haiz, one more thing do not consider me as one of your 'friends' i am just a normal friend without the ' ' ).

next destination, straight to our rented apartment (Melaka Resorts or something like that). now you do not go about telling that i am rich and all, we were forced to take the apartment because all the hotels had no available rooms and the apartment was our last choice (comparing that to the one where we sleep out on the roadsides, we chose the apartment). beside the management gave us a discount because one of my father's friend has an office opposite his building (its complicated, i know). we took our bath and went out to eat. after dinner we slept. (ohhhhh, interesting isn't it.....not)

varanam aayiram!!!!!

that is surya up there with sameera reddy.

OK i know most of my readers will never have heard of this tamil movie. i know, i know, but i got to keep my promise to some one very dear to me. so here goes. varanam aayiram. the movie directed by gautham menon ( an acclaimed director of action movies). unlike his other movies, this one focuses on the relationship between a father and a son. the actor (playing both the father and the son) is surya. now, really hats-off for him. he did an excellent job in this film. seriously, he was amazing. the actresses were simran, sameera reddy, divya spandhana (all three very good looking).

the story starts off from the scene where surya (the son)(military), is on an aircraft (going to save some journalist). he gets a call that informs him of the death of his beloved father. that's when he goes-back-in-time (flashback, of course). it starts off from when he was 17 till he joined the military. all those things that changed his life, and the way his father was there to pat his back and say it-will-get-better-in-time (in tune with Leona's song please). love, death of the lover, drugs, and then how his father managed to pull him out of the pit-of-doom, military, love again, married life, and so on.

i know that the way i have dumped the chronological order of events up there makes it look un-interesting but seriously, the way gautham executed it on film was AWESOME. he managed to bring the best out of surya. the best movie he had acted so far. the movie really speaks to hearts (it means it is really touching).all in all, the movie really was quite inspiring and the story line was quite different (for a tamil movie of course). all the songs are great, harris jeyaraj (the music director rocks). up there are some sweets for your eyes from this magnificent film.

A flat TYRE........(weeee, fun ain't it)

OK, this happened yesterday. we (meaning; me, mum, dad, sister, brother) were heading to the beach. it was about 5.00 pm. my dad was free so we planned to go to the beach for a stroll. you know, its been long since the last time we went to the beach. it had just stopped raining, the puddles of mud and rain water, here and there, had filled the potholes.

my dad was driving the car. my mum beside and the three of us in the back seat. (yeah, i guess you are picturing a perfect little family going on a sweet trip.....hahaha, you are so wrong, me and my siblings in the same car, havoc will be taking over). the car was going smooth until it accidentally bumped into a POTHOLE, (where we would discover later that was the cause for the flat tyre). well, we just kept going since it didn't seem to affect the momentum of the car. there was a lorry driver who went pass us who was waving his hands frantically yelling something that i couldn't hear. well, like most Malaysians, my dad assumed that the door on my mum's side was not shut properly, so we decided to stop and take a look.

we were near Springhill when we saw the flat tyre. well, we had a plan. a PLAN (muahahahahaah, you go to the middle of the road and stop a car and we will ask the guy to help us and when he gets down we will 'hijack' his car and head off to beach). the plan was to call a friend of ours to come and help (obviously we needed help, seeing the circumstances that we didn't bring a jack). so the friend came and brought his jack along. after possibly 10 minutes , we got to know that the friend (lets just call him sathi) forgot to bring the thingamajig (that's what i call things that i don't know the name of) that was supposed to lift the jack. then, sathi brought all other family members excluding me, my dad, and my brother.

after another 10 minutes, the thingamajig arrived. then we got to work. lift the car to a suitable height. then, unscrew the bolts of the flat tyre. thank God , the spare tyre was in good condition. the spare tyre was bolted with the same bolts of the flat tyre. after tightening the bolts, the jack was 'unjacked' (if that makes sense to you), and my dad started to drive. not even a foot away from the place we fixed it, the tyre gave us the impression that it was about to come loose. yeah, you guessed. back to the 'jack-ing'. only then we realised that the bolts for the spare tyre was different from the one in the flat tyre. unscrew bolts, screw in the correct bolts, and tighten it. the car was , finally, moving smoothly without any interruptions.

by the time all this was done, we were dead tired (by 'we' i mean me) . we went to sathi's house and went out for dinner with sathi's family. haiz, damn fun, uh?

lessons we re definitely learnt. first, if you are rich, get a driver. if you are moderate, like me, or poor, get a car jack. then, make sure you screw in the correct bolts. hahahahahaha

life ( at least for me ) is fair.....

before i get down to business, this post does not go out to anyone specifically, seriously, this thought just came to me, and i had to write it down. if it hurt any one's feelings, i am terribly sorry.

the thing that i love about Life is that we are in control of it. i am not saying that you control life. i am just stating that you shape your life. like a plasticine for example, life is the plasticine and you are since our lives are intertwined, so i guess making a change in your life is bound to give an impact on others' ; because their lives will give an impact to others. somehow, our lives are interconnected.

we always have a choice. to do or not to do. this is the best part of it. choices. it's like we can choose what we want. at times, it is difficult but ,hey, remember that the choices that you make will give impact to others. taking your life in control is quite impossible (if you think of it carefully), but once you have it under control, you will know your destination; where to get down (or UP).

from the view of the public, you waste your life with miss use of drugs and smoking ,(which is quite true, actually, they will only make your life span shorter). but do you know you can waste your life in a different way? well, there is this one way. you would have heard of it. it's complaining that life is unfair.

you see. NOW, OPEN YOUR EYES WIDE AND SEE CAREFULLY. complaining and whining that life is unfair will definitely get you nowhere. if you really see where i am going, nod. if you keep on complaining that life is unfair because this happened to me .....and this did not come to me.....i did not get it.....i deserve it.....EVERYBODY, can you hear yourselves now. this is how you truly sound. complainers, whiners. did you ever think why that happened to you before you go on doing the thing you always do, complain. have you ever wondered before that those 'unfairness' in life is due to your actions earlier? I DON'T THINK SO.

seriously, look beyond the veil of complains and you will see Life waiting for you to take control of it. i know, some of you'll out there are in denial, and probably you are going to navigate away from my page but, think carefully, and you will know that what i am saying is true (and makes sense). before you complain about life, look behind your back first, what you did in the past is trailing you behind. loose the knot THE PAST had tied to you and be free. at least now, you know your destination. your aim and goal. go for it with the perception that life is fair. what goes around comes back around. think properly. take actions with the thought that they carry consequences.

LIFE IS SO FAIR.
